چکیده

UNLABELLED In this work we present a detailed study on the influence of surface modifications for luminescent silver (Ag) clusters. Ag clusters (25 atoms) capped with dihydrolipoic acid show a distinct absorbance spectrum with several sharp transitions, and relative broad deep red luminescence with a quantum yield of 5% combined with a remarkably long luminescence lifetime of ~3 μs at room temperature. Both pH and the presence of coordinating ligands influence the absorbance spectra and fluorescence intensity. A strong increase in luminescence intensity up to 45% quantum yield could be induced by coordination with PEG ligands. CONCLUSION the surface coordination of the Ag clusters strongly influences the optical properties.

Boiling water synthesis of ultrastable thiolated silver nanoclusters with aggregation-induced emission.

A facile boiling water synthesis protocol has been developed to synthesize thiolated Ag nanoclusters with a core-shell Ag(0)@Ag(i)-thiolate structure, which was formed through condensation of Ag(i)-thiolate complexes on the surface of an in situ formed Ag(0) core. The as-synthesized thiolated Ag nanoclusters feature strong luminescence via aggregation-induced-emission (AIE).

Lighting up thiolated Au@Ag nanoclusters via aggregation-induced emission.

A simple strategy has been developed to synthesize highly luminescent thiolated Au@Ag nanoclusters (NCs) by using Ag(i) ions to bridge small Au(i)-thiolate motifs on the weakly luminescent thiolated Au NCs, leading to the formation of large Au(i)/Ag(i)-thiolate motifs on the NC surface and thus generating strong luminescence via aggregation-induced emission.

Photovoltaic Performance of Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) Fabricated by Silver Nanoclusters-Decorated TiO2 Electrode via Photochemical Reduction Technique

In this investigation, Ag@TiO2 nanocomposite was prepared by deposition of silver nanoclusters onto commercial TiO2 nanoparticles (known as P25 TiO2) via photodeposition technique as clean and simple photochemical route. The synthesized Ag@TiO2 nanocomposite was utilized in the fabrication of dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) chiefly because, compared ...

Preparation and luminescence of bulk oxyfluoride glasses doped with Ag nanoclusters.

Bulk oxyfluoride glasses doped with Ag nanoclusters have been prepared using the melt quenching technique. When pumped in the absorption band of Ag nanoclusters between 300 to 500 nm, these glasses emit a very broad luminescence band covering all the visible range with a weak tail extending into the near infrared. The maximum of the luminescence band and its color shifts to the blue with a shor...

Theory of the kinetics of luminescence and its temperature dependence for Ag nanoclusters dispersed in a glass host.

We have measured and fitted the kinetics of luminescence of Ag nanoclusters homogeneously dispersed within the bulk of an oxyfluoride glass, with various sample temperatures. The balance equations for the populations of the excited singlet and triplet states of the Ag nanoclusters are proposed and used in this fitting while taking into account inter-system crossing between the singlet and tripl...
